The launch last fall of BobcatBuy+—UC Merced’s enhanced eProcurement Labviva overlay on an Oracle purchasing system—has delivered measurable improvements in purchasing efficiency and value.
Available suppliers and catalogs grew from 25 to 36, including several Labviva-network suppliers, expanding purchasing options and availability, along with savings, efficiency and impact.
In just nine short months, the campus has seen incredible progress with internal efficiencies, savings, and economic impact spend:
- 50% reduction in invoice exceptions
- $400 savings per 1000 orders (February and March report)
- Economic Impact spend up 137% (jumping from 8% to 19% year-over-year and peaking at 25.2% in December).
BobcatBuy+ continues to evolve, with new suppliers, catalog expansions, and user-friendly site enhancements by Labviva. The newest feature is Community Purchases, which shows how often products have been purchased, allowing buyers see which items are popular and trusted by their colleagues.
