On November 1, 2023, The University of California, along with Salesforce and JPMorgan Chase, hosted an insightful and informative event dedicated to demystifying the path to doing business with companies committed to economic and community impact at The Battery in San Francisco.
The purpose was to increase awareness and to educate small and community-oriented suppliers about how to do business with large institutions and corporations. The 160+ audience heard about each organization’s Supplier Diversity program and their efforts to support the development of Small Businesses (SBEs) and Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs).
UC suppliers were well represented amongst the attendees, including Siebert Williams Shank & Co., a woman-owned financial services company that recently managed a $1 billion deal on behalf of UC. This event was part of a strategic initiative to increase awareness of the business opportunities with UC and help our internal stakeholders understand the wide range of community-focused supplier options available.
