UC Systemwide Procurement (SWP) is thrilled to announce the appointment of Adrian Ferreira to the position of Director, Strategic Sourcing – Facilities, Maintenance and Capital (FMC) Programs as of April 1, 2024.

Adrian brings a wealth of experience garnered over 17 years within the University of California system. In various strategic sourcing roles at the UC Office of the President, UC San Diego, and UC Health, Adrian has honed his expertise in higher education strategic sourcing, procurement, and construction management. This experience has helped him develop and implement programs that maximize value in the higher education sourcing environment.

In Adrian's most recent role as Director of Facilities Sourcing for HealthTrust, he was responsible for managing Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) lead agency agreements for multiple health systems in construction and facility management, totaling over $500 million. Before that, as Interim Associate Director of Facilities Strategic Sourcing at UC Systemwide Procurement, Adrian developed SWP’s very first lead agency contract with Omnia Partners – in the maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) category.

Adrian especially enjoys the process of collaborative negotiation in which maximum value for all parties is achieved via a cooperative approach that focuses on mutual benefit and emphasizes long-term partnership. His strengths include developing relationships with suppliers and stakeholders in a variety of settings: multi-department, multi-organizationally, national programs integration, and strategy development that aligns facilities sourcing with organizational priorities.

Adrian’s advanced knowledge of higher ed procurement processes and approaches, his deep experience with lead agency programs, and proficiency in leading teams and building productive relationships across all levels of an organization, along with his commitment to collaboration and his proven track record of implementing successful facilities and construction programs make him uniquely qualified for this role. His BA in Business Administration and bilingualism in English and Spanish are also great assets.

We are confident that Adrian's innovative vision and breadth of experience will once again contribute greatly to the success of Systemwide Procurement. Please join us in re-welcoming Adrian to the SWP team.
