Every two years, the California Higher Education Collaborative (CHEC) — a joint undertaking of The California State University (CSU), the California Community Colleges (CCC), and the University of California (UC) — hosts a 4-day conference. The intent of the CHEC conference is to exchange best practices, ways of working, and lessons learned in an effort to improve our collective outcomes.

Administrative leaders and professionals from UC, CSU and CCC gathered for the first in-person CHEC conference since the pandemic at the UCLA Luskin Center in late November 2023. Themes and topics of this year’s meeting included leveraging value, innovative approaches, culture and engagement, sustainability, artificial intelligence, and – of course – procurement!

UC Procurement had the pleasure of being recognized for three CHEC awards:

  • UC Systemwide Procurement: Pipeline Technology Replacement for Systemwide Strategic Sourcing
  • UC San Diego: Batch Invoice Data Tool
  • Sustainable Procurement Working Group: EcoVadis (supplier sustainability ratings) collaboration

Congratulations to each group for your standout work!
