UC Supplier Diversity Advisory Council
Purpose
The University of California Supplier Diversity Advisory Council (SDAC) is comprised of supplier diversity and economic development industry experts, diverse suppliers, impact investors, and leaders of various small and diverse business community networking organizations.
These experts advise UC on strategic approaches to ensure that our supply chain is tapping into the full capability of the market and is reflective of the diversity across our great State of California.
The SDAC meets quarterly and is chaired by UC Chief Procurement Officer, Paul Williams. It reports to the UC Office of the President, the UC Procurement Leadership Council (PLC) and partners with other key University functions.
Mission
The Council's mission is to foster, promote, increase and retain University of California spend among small, diverse, disadvantaged and local businesses.
The SDAC focuses in the areas of:
- Awareness and Education
- Access to Capital
- Compliance
- Innovation (see XPRIZE Foundation partnership)
The SDAC provides invaluable input to gain deeper insights into our supplier diversity program, engage with fellow stakeholders, and contribute collectively to the objective of building a more inclusive supply chain.
