As part of continuous improvement, the Systemwide eProcurement (ePro) team has embarked on a content management project with the goal of creating a cohesive content management strategy systemwide. This project will evaluate how ePro content is managed through the full lifecycle – from initiating a sourcing event to managing suppliers’ performance – and will include recommendations for various ePro platforms used across the UC system.

Efforts and phases of the project include documenting processes for better transparency and making recommendations for systemwide strategy and process improvements. Currently, we are in the initial data gathering stage. This started with surveying systemwide and campus stakeholders in eProcurement content and will follow with interviews of campus and systemwide commodity managers.

We are approaching this project based on the segments of the content lifecycle (outlined in the graphic above), and planned improvements will be rolled out as approved by the Governance Board, PLC, or internal management team, as applicable. We look forward to creating a cohesive content management strategy that will help streamline processes, boost transparency and access to data, improve decision-making, and reduce waste and inefficiencies.
