Continuous process improvement

And that’s what’s happening with the Systemwide Content Management continuous improvement project. Content management refers to how we procure, manage, and maintain the products and services suppliers sell through our eProcurement platforms. This project is evaluating the full Content Management lifecycle, identifying pain points in current processes, and assessing the impact of those pain points – all with the goal of improving content strategy and relevant processes.

Though significant work remains, the eProcurement team has made great strides in these areas:

  • Performed an extensive data analysis of price files
  • Facilitated several surveys and interviews to collect feedback from end users
  • Conducted testing scenarios to ensure proof of concept, and
  • Documented many ePro system and sourcing processes.

Ongoing activities include:

  • Collaborating with the systemwide Strategic Sourcing Centers of Excellence team in their 90-day sprint initiative (another continuous process improvement effort)
  • Facilitating workgroups to finalize proposed content strategy approaches, and
  • Standardizing the ePro strategy in sourcing events, just to name a few.
