Supplier Diversity Advisory Council - December 2023 Meeting

The Supplier Diversity Advisory Council (SDAC) quarterly meeting took place on December 7, 2023, at the Luskin Center at UCLA

In this engaging and energetic meeting, SDAC held a collaborative benchmarking session with the LA28 Planning Committee, the group working on preparing the City of Los Angeles to host the 2028 Summer Olympics. They also spent time with local UCLA Buyers and stakeholders for real world input on working with the University.

The SDAC focuses in the areas of:

  • Awareness and Education

  • Access to Capital

  • Compliance

  • Innovation (particularly its partnership with the XPRIZE Foundation

This team tracks UC’s progress towards established supplier diversity goals and collaboratively identifies new strategies to enhance success.

The SDAC meets quarterly, with two in-person events six months apart – one in southern California and the other in Northern California, and two virtual meetings six months apart. These meetings provide an invaluable platform to gain deeper insights into our supplier diversity program, engage with fellow stakeholders, and contribute collectively to the objective of building a more inclusive supply chain.

The SDAC is comprised of supplier diversity and economic development industry experts, diverse suppliers, impact investors, and leaders of various small and diverse business community networking organizations. These experts advise UC on strategic approaches to ensure that its supply chain is tapping into the full capability of the market and is reflective of the diversity across our great State of California.
