Contracting for Covered Services - Article 39 of the T&Cs

Article 39 of the UC Terms and Conditions defines the requirements for suppliers who provide a Covered Service. See the full Terms & Conditions for more information and full legal requirements.

What are Covered Services?

Covered Services include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following services: cleaning, custodial, janitorial, or housekeeping services; food services; laundry services; grounds keeping; building maintenance (excluding skilled crafts); transportation and parking services; security services; billing and coding services; sterile processing; hospital or nursing assistant services; and medical imaging or other medical technician services.

Suppliers are required to report to UC the names and total hours worked by each employee or contract worker who meets the reporting thresholds noted below. Should any supplier employees work either:

  • 1,000 hours in a rolling twelve (12) month period or
  • 35% time over a rolling thirty-six (36) month period on behalf of Supplier

that Worker will be deemed a “qualified individual” (“QI”) and will be eligible for UC employment.
