In 2019, the University of California (UC) teamed up with OMNIA Partners to create the Lead Agency Marketing Partnership (LAMP) program and provide campuses and affiliated institutions with a portfolio of competitively bid and approved cooperative contracts. These contracts streamline the procurement process and help users remain in compliance with University of California procurement policies and procedures while providing unparalleled value.
Over this past year, the LAMP program has really taken off and produced noteworthy results. But these results wouldn’t have been possible without the work of UC Procurement’s Centers of Excellence (CoE) in concert with our campus procurement and campus stakeholders. The ongoing efforts of UC procurement professionals throughout the system who have served on sourcing committees, evaluated bid responses, implemented awards and engaged with OMNIA Partners has the potential to help relieve the administrative burden of competition for over 87,000 agencies across the country! These agencies can all benefit from UC’s best-in-class work as top sourcing and subject matter experts.
Let’s take a closer look at this year’s notable outcomes:
- Over 500 agencies nationally have utilized 14 UC contracts so far
- UC recently completed seven (7) additional national programs for a total of 25 contracts
- Nine (9) national programs are in-flight to be completed in the next six months
- 33 national programs are road-mapped over the next three years
- UC campuses have utilized over 300 of OMNIA Partners’ and Vizient’s contracts
- UC portfolio engagement has returned over $800,000 in rebates to campuses so far…
Other behind-the-scenes benefits of this program include a dedicated UC/OMNIA Partners microsite, strategic social media postings (follow #UCcontracts), e-mail campaigns promoting new contract awards, and webinars to launch new programs both internally and nationally.
Lastly, UC is always challenged to do more with less, and often needs more competitively bid contracts than realistically can be addressed. To mitigate this, campuses can take advantage of OMNIA Partners’ (over 300) and Vizient’s (over 1200) already competed public contracts. Use these contracts as a resource when time is tight, or when policy requires competed contracts, or to simply manage more tail spend. UC’s dedicated OMNIA representative, Jeffrey Smith can help you navigate these beneficial options.
