Matheson Tri-Gas, Inc. recently announced the reopening of its Dry Ice production facility in Martinez, California. This significant development strengthens the University of California’s (UC) existing partnership with Matheson and ensures a reliable supply of dry ice essential for research and educational activities across the UC system.
After substantial investments in modernizing the facility's infrastructure, Matheson has enhanced operations to prioritize safety, efficiency, and sustainability. The revitalization of this plant not only supports the local workforce and community but also aligns with UC's commitment to environmental stewardship and innovation.
Matheson has rehired key on-site employees, including engineering staff, plant management, and drivers. Their expertise is crucial in delivering high-quality dry ice products that support a wide range of applications within our campuses—from preserving biological samples to facilitating advanced scientific experiments.
Matheson dry ice comes in a variety of forms, to meet different research or medical needs.
With the Martinez facility back in operation, Matheson is well-positioned to meet all of UC's dry ice needs. This ensures a stable supply chain that is vital for our ongoing research projects and educational programs throughout the state.
Additionally, Matheson is nearing the completion of their ePro integration, which will soon make their products and services readily accessible to all UC campuses. This integration will streamline procurement processes, allowing for more efficient and timely acquisitions of essential supplies.
We’re grateful to Matheson for their commitment to supporting the UC system. Their investment in California and dedication to quality service bolster our mission to foster excellence in research and education. We look forward to the continued growth of our partnership in the years ahead.
